CC’s Redneck PubIf you are a Northerner (“Nawthunah”) or a Foreigner (“Furunur”), you might not truly understand what I call a totally redneck bar. There may be some kind of equivalent up North, or maybe in an English Pub, but for the life of me, I do not think so. Believe me, I used to live up North, and I have been to England, and I never saw one to equal our Redneck Pubs in the South.Even a lot of Southerners have not experienced the delights of being in a real redneck bar. The reason for that is that no “gentleman” would ever go into one, even if he knew exactly what it was and where it was. By the way, we have a lot of definitions around here for a “gentleman” but the one that is generally accepted is the one that I like the best: “a gentleman is a man who gets out of the shower to take a pee.” Now I regard myself as being from a fairly good family, but even I would not qualify as a gentleman under that definition.My favorite redneck pub is one that is just on the edge of town, but still on the main drag, which is the most prominent street in the community. I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy myself a little home. I looked all around in the little suburb town about 30 miles east of San Francisco. The prospects were not that great for the price but I did see a condo that was just right for me in size, layout and price. The move was quick because I had been living in a furnished apartment in San Francisco and had very little furniture. I was certainly ready to buy some pieces that suited my taste but the first thing was a bed. Of course there was no question about the size as I already had bed linens for a queen sized bed. It took a couple of weeks to get settled in and the 2-bedroom condo became a 1 bedroom with an office so I could work at home.In the area where I moved it gets quite warm during the summer and an air conditioner is needed and up until the second week I was moved in, the air conditioner was not needed. The temperature rose and I gave the thermostat a flick. The fan turned on immediately but, the compressor didn’t turn on so, all that was blowing around was hot air. It didn’t take me long to look up the phone number of a repair service.It was around noon by the time the doorbell rang.
