UNTITLED MASTERPEICEPART ONE: BODIESUNSPOKENIt had been a lazy day, gone by in a whir. He hadn’t made it to working on the gate, other than to walk over to take a good look at it. He was half afraid that if he did he’d have to face the stranger. He wasn’t up for that, pardon the pun.Instead he unpacked and made the place a little more his own, basically spending the day getting to know his new home and finding the comfort of being in it. It was now late. He had showered, watched a little TV and suddenly felt a little fenced in.Here it was Saturday night, in a new town, a whopping big metropolis to boot, and he was alone. Other than a few people at work, he had not had the time to begin socializing. He made a mental note to rectify that shortly. He found himself in the master bedroom, deciding to just turn in and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. A first he thought to open the curtains and the glass doors, but decided not to tempt fate. UNTITLED MASTERPEICE PART ONE: BODIES DARKNESS There he stood, the changes in his life had happened so fast, alone in the dark, in a strange place. It was beautiful, much more than he ever imagined would be his, but it was his, lock, stock and staccato floors. It was obvious that he and Clair were in their final stages of relationship when the offer came, a new job, a new place and a life without her— or any one he had come to know. He was confused, angry and ready to chuck it all and start anew. He did. And now he stood in his own home, something he thought he’d never have; after a full day’s work at a new job, paying more than he’d ever dreamed, and in a new city on the other side of the country, far far away from the mess that had become what he once was. Caught in the Act

Chris and his wife Joann asked me to check their condo while they were away on a cruise. I’ve known Chris forever so I didn’t mind even though it was in the next town. I did wonder why they just didn’t ask their son, Bret, but then I remembered he had just gotten married and was going to school for his Master’s a few nights a week. I went over on Monday and everything was good. On Wednesday I decided to check again but this time I got the surprise of my life. I got to the Condo around 7:00 pm. It was a three level condo and you entered from the bottom level, which had the garage and family room. The second level was the kitchen, dinning room, living room and bath. The third level housed the 3 bedrooms. When I got there I checked the garage and made sure the slider in the family was still secured, then I went up to the 2nd level. Everything looked untouched but then I noticed there was a set of keys on the kitchen table. ‘Hmm” I thought, that’s strange. There was just a small light on but then I heard a noise coming from upstairs. At first I got nervous thinking someone had broken in and was robbing the place but then I quickly realized that nothing was disturbed.
